Nestled in the woods of Bainbridge Island, The Island School is an independent K-5 elementary school serving Kitsap County. Founded in 1977, it fosters a culture of excellent education, curiosity, and joy in learning. Our caring teachers tailor education to each child’s needs, incorporating art, music, physical education, and Spanish.
The Island School is a vibrant community of students, teachers, and families working together. We maintain economic diversity through a strong financial aid program and are accredited by the Northwest Association of Independent Schools. Our mission is to inspire lifelong learning and respect for others, creating a nurturing environment where children thrive.
